Along with the HarmonyOS 2, Huawei is also speeding up the process of delivering the May 2021 security update to its eligible devices around the globe. According to the latest info, the Huawei P Smart 2021 is now getting a new software update that installs May 2021 security patch.
This latest update can be identified with the latest EMUI 10.1 version 10.1.1.182 (C432E4R4P1) and comes with an update size of around 640MB. Huawei claims that this patch fixes different levels of exploits and issues including 3 critical, 10 high levels, and 4 medium levels of CVEs.

Besides the security improvements, there aren’t any other newly added changes noted in the changelog. As usual, it’s a staged rollout and may take time to reach your device, but it has to reach you then do take a backup of your important data before installing it.
HarmonyOS for global users?
Huawei is going as planning or we can say faster than what was planned for the HarmonyOS rollout. The company has released some of the updates before time. However, both the beta and stable rollouts are currently reserved for the Chinese market. And soon the company will announce its plan for international users.
How to check for updates?
Via Settings
- You can update your device via Settings
- Then navigate to System & updates >> Software updates >> Check for updates
- Lastly (If the update appears) then click on Download and install
- After installation restarts the device to optimize the applications

- This is an alternate method to download the update on Huawei devices through the Support app
- For that go to Service tab >> Update >> Download and install >> and then finally Install
