According to the source, the December 2022 security patch carries a build version HarmonyOS 3.0.0.179patch02. Additionally, users of the Huawei Mate 50 series will need to download a package of around 16.26MB. Other than the performance improvements the changelog doesn’t mention any major changes.
To be mentioned, the December 2022 security patch is currently available for the HarmonyOS 3 version of the Mate 50 series. However, the rollout will expand to all the models soon, we recommend users to install the latest patch on their device, but before that you should know that the package also contains some issues.
As per the info, some owners of standard Mate 50 variant are facing a bug in the camera telephoto lens. Users reported that the 10X telephoto zoom lost clarity after upgrading their device to December 2022 patch. But we can expect that company will fix this issue with the upcoming updates.
