Apple iOS 14.5 confirmed to release next week

Apple yesterday unveiled the new iPad Pro with the Apple M1 SoC, as well as the new iMac and Apple TV 4K with the A12 Bionic SoC and the new Siri Remote.

Special attention was paid to wireless AirTags, which will make it easy to find keys, wallet, or escaped pet. AirTag requires an iPhone or iPod touch with iOS 14.5 or later, or an iPad with iPadOS 14.5 or later.

These software updates will be available from next week. Customers must have an Apple ID and sign in to their iCloud account. Some features require to Find My to be turned on in iCloud settings.

AirTag includes support for accessibility features built into iOS. For example, the Precise Search feature with VoiceOver can direct blind or visually impaired users to AirTag with directions such as “AirTag is 3 meters to your left.”

iOS devices can also detect an AirTag that its owner does not have and notify the user if an unknown AirTag travels with them from one location to another over time.

Along with iOS 14. Apple will release watchOS 7.4 and macOS 11.3 next week. Presumably, the release of these operating systems will take place on April 30th.
