Apple released iOS and iPadOS 14.5.1 with bug fixes

Apple released the official version of iOS 14.5.1 and iPadOS 14.5.1 update. This update has passed a week since the official release of iOS 14.5.

Apple said that iOS 14.5.1 includes bug fixes and provides important security updates, and it is recommended for all users to install it. According to Apple’s release notes, this update fixes a bug in App Tracking Transparency that may prevent some users from receiving prompts from the app.

“This update resolves the issue of app tracking transparency. This issue previously caused some users who had disabled the “Allow apps to request tracking settings” to re-enable them and may not be able to receive app prompts.”

The security note shows that Apple has solved the memory corruption problem and the integer overflow problem in WebKit, both of which may be exploited by maliciously produced web content.

Apple said that there are reports that these problems may have been exploited, and users are advised to upgrade immediately. This latest update is available for all the eligible devices over the air in the Settings app. To download go to Settings > General > Software Update.
