Microsoft released March 2021 security update for its Surface laptops and Surface Pro 4

Microsoft released March 2021 firmware update for Surface Laptop 1, 2, 4, and Surface Pro 4. This firmware update mainly improves security performance and stability. In addition, all devices have pushed UEFI firmware updates.

This update can be downloaded through the update that comes with the Win10 settings, and the driver update can be found in the optional update.

The following are the partial update log:

Surface Laptop 4

  • Upgrade the UEFI firmware to version 10.5.141.0 to improve device stability.
  • Intel AX201 wireless network card driver update, fix key security vulnerabilities and improve connection stability.
  • The Intel Iris Xe core display driver has been updated to improve the graphical interface control performance when an external monitor is connected.

Surface Laptop 2

  • UEFI firmware is upgraded to 138.3681.768.0 version to improve stability.

Surface Laptop 1

  • UEFI firmware is upgraded to 138.3681.768.0 version to improve stability.

Surface Pro 4

  • The UEFI firmware is upgraded to version 109.3681.768.0, which fixes security vulnerabilities and improves system stability. In addition, it also solves the issue of asset tag version control.
  • Intel ME Management Engine Driver Update: Provides critical security updates to improve system stability.
  • Intel ICLS Client driver update: Provides critical security updates to improve system stability.
