The Indian government has banned a set of Chinese apps from its region. But there are a set of Realme and Xiaomi smartphones that already had some of these restricted apps installed.

The latest MIUI 12 update for Poco F1 has removed some pre-install apps that were banned by the government of India. This update allows users to uninstall many of Xiaomi’s pre-installed apps including the Mi Browser, Mi Video, and more.
In accordance with the request of the local authorities, Mi Video, Slow-motion videos, AI soundtrack, dictated subtitles, and more will no longer be available in India. This new update comes with the August security patch. It does not include the notice about the banned apps.
