Redmi 7 MIUI 12 update starts rolling out [Download Link]

Xiaomi is releasing the MIUI 12 update for Redmi 7 users in China. This update brings a bunch of new features and optimizations for a better experience.

MIUI 12 update for Redmi 7 comes with new animations, new dynamic visuals, new shortcuts to open the Control center and notification shade as well as improves the system security by installing the latest Android patch released in January 2021.

It also optimizes the full-screen gesture, system animations in selected scenes, Control center layout, and Dark mode. This update also fixes the issue by which notification shade wasn’t displayed correctly in Dark mode.

The new update for Redmi 7 comes with software version V12.0.1.0.QFLCNXM and users will have to download a 2.3GB software package to install the update. Below you can check the download link and changelog of this update.

  • Optimization: Full-screen gestures are now ignored on the Lock screen alarm page
  • Updated Android Security Patch to January 2021. Increased system security

System animations

  • Optimization: Animations in selected scenes

Control center

  • New: Swipe down from the upper left corner to open Notification shade and from the upper right corner to open Control center
  • Optimization: Control center is now closed by incoming calls
  • Optimization: Control center layout in landscape mode
  • Fix: Control center wasn’t always displayed correctly in landscape mode

Dark mode

  • Optimization: Brightness and color improvements for wallpapers in Dark mode

[Status bar, Notification shade]

  • Fix: Notification shade wasn’t displayed correctly in Dark mode
