Xiaomi has started to rollout the MIUI 11-based new software update for Redmi 9 globally. It brings the latest September 2020 security patch along with some optimizations.

The MIUI 12 update already received by the Indian and Chinese variants of the Redmi 9. The Global users are still receiving the MIUI 11 based new software update and expected to get the MIUI 12 update soon.
September 2020 security update installs the latest Android patches to improve system security. It also brings the new camera features including the watermark and full-screen mode.
