November 2020 security patch with some improvements available for Realme 5, 5i and 5s

After sending the November 2020 security patches for several Realme smartphones, the company is now improving the security of its other devices including Realme 5, 5i, and 5s devices.

This update enhances system stability as well as adds some new features. As per the changelog, it adds some new toggles – a toggle that will display the keyboard when entering the app drawer and another toggle is for a physical button in the screenshot setting page.

Adding to this, the latest update gives a sunset to sunrise eye comfort option along with the optimized interactive mode that previews the floating screenshot. It also adds a feature to turn off the flashlight while screen-off, it works when you short-press the power button.

November update for Realme 5, 5i, and 5s come with the software version RMX1911EX_11.C.61. You can also check the full changelog of this update mentioned below.

HOW TO UPDATE:

To check for the latest software update manually, just head into the device Settings and tap on the Software Updates menu. You can Download and Install the latest update now.

Previously they received the August 2020 security patch which adds some new and improved features as well as optimizations and bug fixes. Currently, Realme is working on the latest Android 11 based Realme UI 2.0 rollout for its eligible devices. For now, Realme 5, 5i, and 5s are not on the eligible devices list of Realme UI 2.0.

NOTE:

Once again, these are incremental rollouts. They may not be available for every Realme 5/5i/5s users now but will be soon followed to all after ensuring the stability.

INSTRUCTIONS:

  • Back up your data before updating: Settings > Additional Settings > Back Up and Reset > Backup & Restore, select the Data to Be Backed up.
  • Keep the battery level over 30%.
  • Do not turn off your phone during the update process.
