On August 05, 2020, Samsung launched the Galaxy Note 20 series, alongside the company introduced the new version of One UI, One UI 2.5. It comes with a bunch of very useful features.

Samsung One UI 2.5 doesn’t bring big changes to the UI, but there are many new camera features, DeX, gesture navigation, and more. The One UI 2.5 is still based on Android 10. Samsung will gradually start rolling out the One UI 2.5 to its eligible devices including Galaxy S and Galaxy Note smartphones.

1. New Camera Features

You can now capture jaw-dropping videos easily. Pro Video mode lets you produce high-fidelity videos with just the Galaxy device alone.

In the Settings app, there’s a new option called “Pro video size” for the Camera, which lets you set the resolution of the Pro Video mode. If you want to give your videos a cinematic look, all you need to do is shoot in 8K with a 24fps frame rate. With the option to record footage in the 21:9 aspect ratio, you can capture more of your experiences.

In addition, with the Pro Video mode in Camera, there’s a new “Zoom” button, with that you can adjust magnification. To produce pro-grade videos, audio quality is as important as the visuals. Pro Video mode on the Galaxy device gives you the ability to control the smartphone’s mic direction, so you can pick up specific sounds when you shoot. When paired with the Galaxy Buds line-up, you can use the earbuds as a pro-style lavalier microphone to minimize background noise and record crystal-clear audio.

You also have a new microphone button in the Pro Video mode in Camera. By selecting the microphone button, it will open new options to manage the audio recording. You now have an option to adjust the mic to record either omnidirectional, in front, or behind you. In addition, you can choose the source when using a USB microphone or external Bluetooth device. There’s an indicator that represents the current signal level of the mics.

There’s an adjust focus button on the viewfinder in the camera. A new button option is available to add a histogram, a chart that shows all the grayscale values of the image. It also adds a Video Playback Indicator to information on the display. Don’t worry, you also have a reset button in the Pro Video modes.

2. Samsung Notes

The latest One UI 2.5 update is bringing even more powerful features to Samsung Notes to help you get more done faster.

With Audio Bookmark, you can synchronize your notes with audio recordings of lectures or meetings. When you review your notes, you can simply select a section of what you wrote to play back the corresponding audio. Alternatively, you can scroll through audio recordings to see the matching notes.
The updated Samsung Notes also lets you import and write on PDF files, making it simpler for you to review and revise documents on-the-go.

When you are working with multiple devices, Samsung Notes’ Auto save & sync function keeps you in the flow by letting you quickly access notes across your Galaxy device, tablet, and PC.

With a new template and background color options available, as well as the ability to add handwritten text to typed documents, Samsung Notes can help you work more efficiently, no matter your style.

3. Samsung DeX

By tapping on the Samsung DeX icon in the quick panel, you can now connect your Galaxy S20 to a Smart TV wirelessly and instantly enjoy more space to work and play.

Samsung DeX also lets you use the Galaxy device as a touchpad to control the second display with multi-finger gestures. Simply swipe up with three fingers to see recently opened apps, down to return to the home screen, or left or right to switch between apps.

4. Connectivity

You can easily share the password of the Wi-Fi you are connected to with nearby Galaxy devices that are in your contact list. The new Wi-Fi feature will also show you the speed of the connections in your surroundings, so you can quickly find the one that suits your needs.

5. Reminder

With the updated Reminder app, you can preset time and location for upcoming meetings and tasks.

6. Android 10 Gestures support
