Breaking: OnePlus 7 and 7 Pro started receiving Android 11-based OxygenOS 11 update

OnePlus launched the OnePlus 7 series phones in the first half of 2019 that was launched with the pre-installed Android 9 pie-based OxygenOS 9. These phones were then updated to Android 10 last year. Moving on the company has also included these devices in the beta program of Android 11.

OnePlus has recently seeded the Android 11-based OxygenOS 11 update for the OnePlus 7T series and now the company is releasing this latest version for the OnePlus 7 series of phones which include OnePlus 7 and 7 Pro.

Based on Google’s latest Android 11, the OxygenOS 11 comes with a variety of new changes and features including an improved AOD (Always on display), refreshed user interface, and many other changes that can be seen on the lock screen and the home screen of the device.

Besides this, the latest update for the OnePlus 7 series of phones also comes with February 2021 security patch for improved system security and device stability. Additionally, it also comes with the updated GMS package to January 2021.

It is important to note that the update is currently rolling out in batches and it may take some time to reach your device. Till then you can also check it manually on your phones within the software updates section in the Settings app.

    • Newly added Canvas feature that can automatically draw a wireframe picture based on a lock screen photo on your phone(Path: Settings – Customization – Wallpaper – Canvas – Choose photo preview and it can be generated automatically)
  • Dark Mode
    • Added the shortcut key for Dark Mode, pull down the quick setting to enable
    • Supporting automatically turn on feature & customize time range (path: Settings – Display – Dark Mode – Turn on automatically – Automatically enable from sunset to sunrise/Custom time range)
  • Game Space
    • Newly added gaming tools box for convenient switches of Fnatic mode. You can now choose three ways of notifications: text-only, heads up and block, just for your immersive gaming experience
    • Newly added quick reply feature in a small window for Instagram, WhatsApp and Telegram (Enable it by swiping down from upper right/left corners of the screen in gaming mode)
    • Newly added mis-touch prevention feature. Enable it, swipe down from the top of the screen, click and the notification bar will pop out
  • Shelf
    • Newly shelf interface design, the interface is clearer
    • Added weather widget, animation effect smarter
  • Gallery
    • Supporting Story function, automatically form weekly videos with photos and video in storage
    • Optimize the loading speed of the gallery, and the image preview is faster

 

Note: This OTA will have a staged rollout. The OTA will be received by a limited number of users today and will have a broader rollout in a few days after making sure there are no critical bugs.
