Samsung has released the May 2022 security patch with new camera improvements to the Galaxy Note 20 and Note 20 Ultra smartphones. This update fixes several privacy and security vulnerabilities.

Samsung recently released the May 2022 security patch for the Galaxy Note 20 and Galaxy Note 20 Ultra flagship smartphones. The update is now expanding to users of the Galaxy Note 20 series in Germany.

The company has released the latest firmware version numbers N981BXXU4FVE7 and N981BXXU4FVE7. The security patch fixes various privacy and security-related vulnerabilities from Google and Samsung, bringing 7 critical, 23 high, and 3 medium-level CVEs.


UPDATE 3: May 23 (05:50 ET) – Galaxy Note 20 May 2022 security update – Canada

A few days ago in the US, the company released the May 2022 security patch for the Galaxy Note 20 series smartphone, now Samsung has released this update for the Canadian Galaxy Note 20 series users. This update improves overall system security and protects your device from bugs and viruses.

The Galaxy Note 20 and Note 20 Ultra come with the upgraded firmware version numbers N981USQS2FVE6 and N986USQS2FVE6, the company has released the build details. This update is currently being rolled out in Canada.

It brings May 2022 security patch to fix several privacy and security-related vulnerabilities. It may also include general bug fixes and device stability improvements. Some stock apps may also get updated.

Samsung Galaxy Note 20 and Galaxy Note 20 Ultra users in India starts getting the latest Android 12-based One UI 4.1 update. The new Android 12-based One UI iteration is now available for the Galaxy Note 20 duo, bringing even more new features and better security.

Samsung has already released its latest Android 12 One UI 4.1 update for Galaxy Note 20  smartphone users in many regions. Now in the meantime company is expanding it for carrier-unlocked variants in the US markets. It’s currently released on Sprint and T-Mobile networks and more carriers will get it in the next few days.

The latest Android 12-based One UI 4.1 update can be identified via the One UI build version for Galaxy Note 20 N980U1UEU2FVC5 and Galaxy Note 20 Ultra N986U1UEU2FVC5 respectively.

Samsung brings multiple new features and changes for the unlocked variant as well. According to the changelog, this update installs the March 2022 Android security patch for better system security and performance enhancement.

  • Open Settings
  • Click on Software update
  • Press Download and install

Note: Make sure that you backup your important data before you staring the downloading process, so you won’t lose any important files. Although the upgrade procedure won’t replace or remove any of the corresponding data from your smartphone, it’s recommended to do so for extra safety measures.
