Update 11, January 29 (02:20 ET) ― February 2022 security patch

February 2022 security patch rolling out

Samsung Galaxy Note 20 and Galaxy Note 20 Ultra are now getting the February 2022 security patches. The update is rolling out in European countries.

Software versions are:

  • Galaxy Note 20: N980FXXU3EVA9 | N981BXXU3EVA9
  • Galaxy Note 20 Ultra: N985FXXU3EVA9 | N986BXXU3EVA9

 

Update 10, January 15 (12:32 ET) ― T-Mobile Android 12

T-Mobile rolling out Android 12/One UI 4.0 update

After Verizon, T-Mobile has started rolling out One UI 4.0 based on Android 12 to the Galaxy Note 20 series. The update brings new privacy features and visual enhancements. The Galaxy Note 20 series is the latest to receive One UI 4.0 in the US.

Alongside several new features, the update also brings the December 2021 security patch. Check the software versions below.

Update 9, January 14 (09:41 ET) ― January 2022 update

January 2022 security patch rolling out

Samsung Galaxy Note 20 and the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra are getting the January 2022 security patch.

Software versions are:

  • Galaxy Note 20: N981BXXS3EULH/N980FXXS3EULH
  • Galaxy Note 20 Ultra: N986BXXS3EULH/N985FXXS3EULH

According to Samsung, the company added 62 fixes, 52 from Google and 10 from Samsung, in the January 2022 security patch.

From fixed issues, 2 of them were critical, 39 vulnerabilities were highly prioritized, and 12 were moderately severe, while 9 vulnerabilities were included in Google’s own patch. If you want to read about the security patch in detail, check here for details.

After the locked variants, the company has now released the Android 12 update for the unlocked units of the Galaxy Note 20 series. Alongside several new features, the update also includes the January 2022 security patch.

Update 7, January 06 (11:32 ET) ― One UI 4.0 stable update available on more carriers

More network carriers rolling out One UI 4.0

After Verizon, the Comcast and Xfinity Mobile network carriers in the US are rolling out the stable One UI 4.0 update, based on Android 12.

The Galaxy Note 20 and Note 20 Ultra are also getting the December 2021 security patch alongside the Android 12 update.

Verizon has now started sending the Android 12-based One UI 4.0 update to the Galaxy Note 20 series users in the US.

Alongside Android 12 with One UI 4, the latest update also brings the December 2021 security patch. The update also included the Android 12 features, Color Themes, Privacy Dashboard, the Samsung Keyboard update, Camera improvements, and more.

Update 5, December 28 (11:50 ET) ― One UI 4.0 stable update

Stable Android 12-based One UI 4.0 rolling out

The Galaxy Note 20 series is now receiving the Android 12-based One UI 4.0 update in Switzerland. It also brings the December 2021 security patch. The software versions are:

Update 4, December 15 (10:00 ET) ― One UI 4.0 Beta 4

One UI 4.0 Beta 4

According to Sammy Fans, Samsung Galaxy Note 20 is now getting the One UI 4.0 Beta 4 update, it solves the error that disappears the bubble icon while minimizing the KakaoTalk app’s window alongside fixes for booting into safe mode or entering recovery mode.

You can check the changelog below, which is way too small as compared to the previous beta update. It could also mean that the stable update is coming soon.

One UI 4.0 Beta 3 rolling out with some serious bug fixes

Samsung Galaxy Note 20 devices are getting the Android 12-based One UI 4.0 beta 3 builds in Korea with software version ending – ZUL1. It includes fixes for several bugs and issues for a better user experience. It also fixes the abnormal behavior while unlocking some apps through a fingerprint scanner.

The One UI 4.0 Beta 3 update also fixes the no response error of select Quick panel toggles as well as the volume monitoring UI. It also fixed occasional crashes with Galaxy Watch 4.
