Samsung releases new security improvements for Galaxy S10 but it doesn’t bring Android 11!

Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite has started getting the Android 11 based One UI 3.0 update, last month. On the other hand, the Galaxy S10e, S10, S10+, and S10 5G users are still waiting for the exciting new features of One UI 3.0.

As per the One UI 3.0 update roadmap, Samsung Galaxy S10 devices are listed to get the Android 11/One UI 3.0 update from January 2021, but the company has not released this software till now. However, the Galaxy S10 gang has started collecting a new firmware in the US but it doesn’t bring major platform update.

According to the latest information, the South Korean tech giant has begun sending the January 2021 security patch for the Galaxy S10 series unlocked variants in the US. This firmware comes with system security improvements while the changelog shows it also brings enhancements to the stability and system functions.

  • G970U1UES4ETL1 – Samsung Galaxy S10e
  • G973U1UES4ETL1 – Samsung Galaxy S10
  • G975U1UES4ETL1 – Samsung Galaxy S10+

As per the latest official security bulletin, the January 2021 security patch fixes 47 high and 1 critical level of CVEs. With this software update, the company hints that the unlocked variants of Galaxy S10 have to wait for more time to get the Android 11 update.

For now, the latest security update is ready to install for the Galaxy S10 unlocked US smartphones. You can check for the latest update manually by jumping to your device’s Settings, then click on Software updates, and finally hit on Download and install.
