Samsung Galaxy S20 receiving June 2021 security update

Galaxy S20 2nd August 2022 update

Samsung started releasing the latest June 2021 security update with the latest Galaxy S21 series and later expanded to the Galaxy Z Flip 5G. However, this update has arrived even before it started in June, but this is not surprising, as the company has been following closely since last year.

Now, the South Korean tech giant is extending this newer security patch to more Galaxy devices, and the Galaxy S20 series is the latest patch. According to the information, the Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20+, and Galaxy S20 Ultra will now receive security updates in the UK and Luxembourg in June 2021.

Users can identify this update by the PDA release numbers (Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20+, and Galaxy S20 Ultra, respectively) G981BXXS8DUE4, G986BXXS8DUE4, and G988BXXS8DUE4. However, this is the initial deployment and can be expanded to other markets in the coming days or weeks.

Except for the latest security improvements through the installation of the June 2021 patch, this new firmware has not yet brought any new features or major system optimizations. Although the Galaxy S20 series is currently running One UI 3.1, these models are ready to receive the One UI 3.5 update that will be released this summer.

It is worth mentioning that the next One UI version (ie One UI 3.5) will not bring major user interface adjustments, because the company has retained important changes for the next generation of One UI. Samsung’s One UI 4.0 based on Android 12 is expected to be released in late September, and more information has not yet been announced.
