Samsung launched the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4 smartphones at the Galaxy Unpacked event this month. The two new devices will officially go on sale on August 26. Ahead of this, Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4 have started getting their first software update as July 2022 security patch in the US.
It’s worth mentioning that the update is released for Verizon-locked devices and you can identify it through the One UI build version F721USQU1AVGA and F936USQU1AVGA for the Flip 4 and Fold 4. It will expand to more users in other regions shortly.
According to the official changelog, Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4 first software update improved the performance of these devices in the US.
Additionally, Google is upgrading the Duo experience to include all Google Meet features. This will replace Google Duo with the Google Meet app, which is also available for download from the Google PlayStore. The Duo icons will also be replaced with the Meet icon.
As mentioned, the new devices are collecting the July 2022 security patch. It further enhances the security and stability of the system to keep your files safe and private. It also fixes over 50 vulnerabilities, which concerns privacy and security.
As soon as you unbox and finish the setup of your Fold 4 or Flip 4, you will receive a new update. You can tap on the notification to directly reach the Download option. Additionally, you can go through Settings >> Software update >> Download and install option to see this update.
The Galaxy Z Fold 4 came with Android 12L-based One UI 4.1.1 OS that is specially customized for large-screen devices to let customers use their phones with ease. The Galaxy Z Flip 4 also runs One UI 4.1.1 out of the box, however, it is based on Android 12 OS, still, there are several improvements.
