Samsung rolling out May 2021 security update for Galaxy Note FE

About four years ago, Samsung launched the Galaxy Note Fan Edition as its new affordable flagship smartphone. It is pre-installed with Samsung Experience based on Android 7.

Now, the South Korean technology giant has begun to send new software updates to the Galaxy Note Fan Edition smartphones to improve system security by installing the latest May 2021 security patch.

According to Samsung, the May 2021 security update fixes 3 critical CVEs, 24 high CVEs, and 17 moderate CVEs. At the same time, this new OTA enhances system functions to provide a better overall user experience.

So far, the company has released these new security improvements to various galaxies (such as Galaxy S21, Galaxy Note 20, Galaxy S20, Galaxy Z Flip 5G, Galaxy A51, and Galaxy S9) wirelessly.

Identified by issue number N935KKKU4CUD1, this is a security update released by Galaxy Note FE in May 2021 and has been successfully introduced to the Korean market. We expect it will be expanded to other regions soon.

How to check for updates:

  • Go to Settings
  • Scroll down to Software updates
  • Then click on Download and install
