Update 10, January 19 (04:29 ET) ― Android 12 in the US

Locked units started getting Android 12-based One UI 4.0 in the US

The locked Galaxy S10 series users are now getting the Android 12-based One UI 4.0 update in the US. Though, the major carriers T-Mobile hasn’t yet released the stable update for the Galaxy S10e, S10, and S10+ devices. Verizon released updated the Galaxy S10 with Android 12.

Alongside Android 12, the update also brings the January 2021 security patch. The software versions are:

  • Galaxy S10e: G970USQU6HULD
  • Galaxy S10: G973USQU6HULD
  • Galaxy S10+: G975USQU6HULD

 

Update 9, January 18 (02:45 ET) ― Verizon’s Android 12 in the US

Galaxy S10 5G gets Android 12 in the US and Korea

Samsung Galaxy S10 5G is getting the Android 12-based One UI 4.0 update in the US on the Verizon network. The S10 5G is also receiving the update in Korea.

Verizon’s Galaxy S10 5G is getting the January 2022 security patch with software version G977UVRU8GULD. In Korea, the update brought the December 2021 security patch with software version G977NKSU6GULB.

 

Update 8, January 17 (04:45 ET) ― January 2022 security patch

Samsung Galaxy S10e, S10, and S10+ are getting the January 2022 security patch. Check the software versions below:

  • Galaxy S10e: G970FXXUEGVA4
  • Galaxy S10: G973FXXUEGVA4
  • Galaxy S10+: G975FXXUEGVA4

According to Samsung, the company added 62 fixes, 52 from Google and 10 from Samsung, in the January 2022 security patch.

From fixed issues, 2 of them were critical, 39 vulnerabilities were highly prioritized, and 12 were moderately severe, while 9 vulnerabilities were included in Google’s own patch. If you want to read about the security patch in detail, check here for details.

After the Galaxy S10e, S10, and S10+, Samsung has now released the Android 12-based One UI 4.0 update to the Galaxy S10 5G users.

After the Galaxy S20, Galaxy Note 20, and the Galaxy Z Fold 2 smartphones, Samsung has now started rolling out the stable One UI 4.0 update for the Galaxy S10 series users.

The company is rolling out the Android 12-based One UI 4.0 update in Germany. Alongside several new features, the update also brings the December 2021 security patch.

NOVEMBER 02, 2021

Samsung has begun rolling out new firmware updates for the Galaxy S10 series devices. The latest update is currently expanding to Korea, bringing the latest November 2021 security patch to improve the security and stability of the device.

Users can recognize the November 2021 security update by PDA version numbers:

  • Galaxy S10e – G970NKSS7FUJ2
  • Galaxy S10 – G973NKSS7FUJ2
  • Galaxy S10+ – G975NKSS7FUJ2
  • Galaxy S10 5G – G977NKSS7FUJ2

Although it’s an initial rollout, the company will expand the availability of the Galaxy S10 November 2021 security patch update to more regions anytime. At the moment, you can manually check for software updates through Settings >> Software updates >> Download and install.

In early August 2021, Samsung launched the Android 12-based One UI 4 beta program for the Galaxy S21 series devices in South Korea and other regions. After releasing three One UI 4 beta versions, the company has ended its activities in South Korea, indicating the arrival of an early stable version of One UI 4.0.

However, there is no information about the One UI 4 beta program for the Galaxy S10 series phones. At the same time, officials have confirmed that these older flagship devices will receive another major software upgrade, Android 12.
