September 2020 security update is rolling out for Honor 9X and 9X Pro

Honor is sending the new software update for Honor 9X and 9X Pro. This update installs the security patch released in September 2020 that brings improvement for system security.

On the other hand, Huawei has started EMUI 11 beta testing for its devices and planning to launch EMUI 11 based on Android 11 soon. However, Honor 9X global users getting an update running EMUI 10, and Honor 9X and Honor 9X Pro Chinese users receiving EMUI 10.1 update.

Recently, Honor 9A and Honor 9S received September 2020 security update with MagicUI 3.1 version 3.1.1.170.

MODELS (GETTING UPDATE):

  • Honor 9X
  • Honor 9X Pro

NEW VERSION:

  • Honor 9X upgraded to EMUI 10 version 10.0.0.238 with an update size of 118MB (for global users)
  • Honor 9X and Honor 9X Pro upgraded to EMUI 10.1 version 10.1.0.107 (for Chinese users)

  • It may take some time to reach your device
  • Maintain enough storage and battery
  • If possible, connect to WiFi

UPDATE INSTRUCTIONS:

Through Setting:

  1. Open Settings on your device
  2. Click on system & updates
  3. Click on the software update
  4. Check for updates
  5. Click on the download button
  6. Install updates
  7. After completion of the installation, the reboot option appears onscreen
  8. Reboot the device

Through Support app:

  1. Open the Support app on your device
  2. If not installed, download it from the play store
  3.  Open service tab
  4. Tap on update
  5. Check for updates
  6. Click on the download button
  7. Install updates
  8. After completion of the installation, the reboot option appears onscreen
  9. Reboot the device
