New Google app update brings a set of significant privacy features

Posted on

Google app is getting a set of prominent privacy features with a new update. Eventually, the latest version is a dynamic pack of enhanced notifications, safe searching as well as a quick way to access important functions of the application at your fingertips.

To begin with, the first element in the Google app privacy features update is the “Results about you” notifications. The Android developer announced this effective change in September last year, to make the removal of some personal identifiable information (PII) such as emails, home addresses, and phone numbers from Search.

Another noteworthy point in notification segments is the alerting feature that lets you know when new results from the web containing your contact info pop up in Search. To access these changes, visit your profile avatar on Android and iOS, and find ‘Results about you’ in the menu.

The second feature appears as SafeSearch blurring. As the name reflects, the capability blurs an explicit image by default, such as adult or graphic violent content when it appears in Search results. Users can further remove any of their essential notes if they no longer wish to be visible in Search.

Last but not least, Google Search is getting a shortcut to parental controls for related queries. For instance – google parental controls or google family link. These features are rolling out globally and will soon hit on your device.
