Big Changes Spotted: Samsung’s next Earbuds and Internet app get major makeovers

New details have surfaced from leaked versions of Samsung’s upcoming phone software, known as One UI 8.5, showing that two major products are about to get big updates.

We are seeing major changes to the design and features of the highly anticipated Galaxy Buds 4 Pro earbuds, as well as a completely fresh look for the Samsung Internet web browser. These sneak peeks confirm Samsung is preparing for some notable upgrades across its mobile experience.

For the Galaxy Buds 4 Pro, the biggest news is a complete change in how they look. The new design moves away from the sharp, angled style of the previous Buds 3 Pro, favoring a much flatter stem on the actual earpieces.

The carrying case is also getting an overhaul, as the earbuds will now lie flat inside the case instead of dropping in vertically, which is a setup many other high-end earbuds use. While one visible light is gone, the handy pinch controls for music and calls seem to be staying put.

However, the most exciting change is a new feature called “Head Gestures.” This tool lets you control the earbuds without using your hands or touching your phone. For instance, you can simply nod your head to answer a phone call or a notification and shake your head to ignore it.

This technology will also work to turn off timers, alarms, and even help you quickly answer “yes” or “no” questions when talking to an AI helper, offering a truly hands-free way to interact with your device.

The Samsung Internet app is also set for a significant new look when the One UI 8.5 software rolls out. Users will see a brand-new introduction screen and a revamped address bar that looks slick and is split into two parts. The main part on the left holds the home icon and the website address, while the smaller section on the right groups together important buttons like Tabs and Options.

Users will also get more choices for how they view the browser. The update offers three different looks for the address bar—Compact, Standard, and Bottom—with the first two being new pill-shaped bars that float near the bottom of the screen.

Plus, managing open websites will be easier with three styles for viewing tabs—List, Grid, and Stack—including a new Grid view that shows tabs arranged clearly in two columns. Instead of the current full-screen menu, the new Options menu will open up vertically as a small, easy-to-use window, making the whole app feel more modern and easier to handle with one hand.
