As per the latest information, the head of Xiaomi’s sub-brand Redmi, Lu Weibing has shared a post on Weibo that revealed another feature of the upcoming Redmi K40. He stated that Redmi K40 will provide powerful performance, a flat-screen display, and good battery life.

The user has commented on this post to not forget the double speaker. For this reason, the executive jokingly answered that he forgot to mention it in his post. This confirms that the upcoming Redmi K40 will also be equipped with dual stereo speakers.

Recently launched smartphones including Mi 11, Redmi Note 9 4G (also known as Redmi 9 Power, Redmi 9T), and POCO M3 all have dedicated auxiliary speakers at the top. Usually, most mobile phones use earpieces as a second speaker, just like on POCO F1.

Therefore, it is still a mystery whether the upcoming Redmi K40 has independent auxiliary speakers or earpieces for stereo effects. Moreover, Lu Weibing only talks about the upcoming Redmi K40 so we can’t be sure if all the models in the series will be equipped with dual speakers.

In terms of specs, the Redmi K40 could have an OLED panel with a punch-hole design. It is said to be equipped with a 64-megapixel main camera and is likely to support 5x zoom.

Apart from this, the device can also be powered by a Snapdragon 888 or 870 processor. Although there is no official confirmation, it is expected to be released on 25 February.
