Google expands Gemini for Home, partners with ADT, adjusts Pixel lineup and Play gift cards

Google is rolling out its Gemini for Home AI service to more countries after its initial launch in the US. The feature is now reaching users in the UK, Canada, Australia, and several European countries.

Gemini for Home is designed to work with smart home devices, helping with things like routines, controls, and natural voice conversations through Google Home speakers and displays. Google plans to keep expanding the service gradually to more regions in the coming months.

Along with this, Google is deepening its partnership with ADT. The companies are bringing Gemini-powered features to ADT’s smart home systems, including voice-based controls, security automation, and improved AI assistance. This move strengthens Google’s position in the smart home market, making its ecosystem more connected and helpful for daily use.

On the hardware side, Google has stopped selling refurbished Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro devices. At the same time, the company has lowered the price of the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro on the Google Store, making them more affordable for customers who still want last-generation models. This shift highlights Google’s focus on its newer Pixel 9 lineup while still offering budget-friendly options for buyers.

Google Play is also introducing changes to its gift cards. The company is updating its Play gift card program, ensuring smoother ways to redeem and use them for apps, subscriptions, and in-app purchases. The cards continue to work across a wide range of digital services on Android and Google Play.
