Google is making some big moves this December by bringing its new smart home AI to Canada and offering a great deal on its latest smartwatch for people in the United States.
Smart home AI expands to Canada
Google is starting to move its new Gemini AI for home devices into other countries, and Canada is the first place to get it outside of the U.S. This new system is designed to replace the old Google Assistant on smart speakers and displays.
Right now, the early version of this program is rolling out to Canadian users who speak English. If you live in Canada and have a device like a Nest Hub, Nest Mini, or Nest Audio, you might see an invite to try it out very soon. For those who prefer to speak French, Google plans to add support for that language in early 2026. This expansion shows that Google is working fast to get its newest technology into more homes around the world.
A free smartwatch for Google Fi users
At the same time, Google is giving its phone service customers a special holiday treat. People who use Google Fi Wireless can now get a Pixel Watch 3 for free. This deal specifically applies to the larger 45mm model that has LTE, which allows the watch to stay connected even without a phone nearby.
To get the watch for free, shoppers get an immediate discount at checkout, and then Google pays off the rest of the cost through monthly credits on their phone bill over two years. There are a few rules to follow: you have to keep your phone service active for the full 24 months, and you need to start using the watch within 30 days of getting it. Because this is a popular offer, colors like black are already selling out, and the deal is only available until December 24 or until they run out of stock.
These updates show that Google is focused on both growing its smart home features internationally and rewarding its loyal mobile customers with high-end hardware.
