Google Pixel Update: You can finally adjust your live effect wallpapers

One of the coolest features on recent Google Pixel phones is called Live Effects. This tool lets you take a regular photo and turn it into a unique, moving wallpaper for your lock screen.

It has been very popular since it came out, but there was one big problem that annoyed many users. Until now, you could not move or resize the picture once you selected it. You were stuck with how the phone decided to crop your image, even if it cut off something important.

It looks like Google has listened to feedback and is finally fixing this issue. A new update found in a test version of the Android software shows that you will soon be able to adjust your photos exactly how you want them.

In this new version, you can simply use one finger to move the photo around and two fingers to pinch and zoom in or out. This gives you full control to frame your shot perfectly before you set it as your wallpaper.

This new adjustment feature works for the “Shape” and “Weather” options inside the wallpaper settings. The “Shape” option cuts out the main subject of your photo and puts it against different backgrounds, while the “Weather” option adds effects like rain or snow to your picture. Previously, the phone would try to guess where the subject was, but it didn’t always get it right. Now, you can fix it yourself if the automatic framing is off.

Right now, this change was spotted in a very early test version of the software, known as a Canary release. This means it is not available on everyone’s phones just yet. However, since it is already working in the testing stage, it is expected to arrive for everyone in a future update, likely within the next few months. Pixel users can look forward to having much better-looking lock screens very soon.
