Hidden Samsung Tri-Fold phone prototype with four cameras appears online

A special, early version of Samsung’s newest folding phone, the Galaxy Z TriFold, has been seen online, showing something different from the model that people can buy. The information came from a high-ranking Samsung staff member, Omar Saheb, who works as the Vice President of Marketing and E-commerce for the Middle East and North Africa region. He posted pictures of the device on his professional social media account, likely by accident.

The surprise was the camera system on the back of the phone. While the Galaxy Z TriFold that is being released has three cameras, the one in the pictures clearly shows four. This extra camera suggests that Samsung may have planned a version of the device with a more powerful photo setup, but later changed their mind.

Since phone companies often create many test models before choosing a final design, experts believe this four-camera phone is simply a prototype that was never meant for stores. Samsung is known to sometimes cut back on certain features to ensure their phones are as thin as possible. The official TriFold is already very slim, and adding a large camera system would have likely made it thicker or costlier.

Another detail that shows this device is not the final product is the back panel. The actual production phone is expected to have a back made from a strong, special material, but the one in the leaked pictures looks plain and basic.

This suggests it is a non-working model or a unit used for engineering tests. Even though the official TriFold model has three cameras, this accidental reveal gives us a peek into some of the advanced designs Samsung considered for its new large folding phone.
