Samsung recently shared news about its new R20 Ultrasound System. The company plans to show the machine completely for the first time at a major industry event in Chicago, Illinois, called the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) 2025 Annual Meeting.

The new R20 Ultrasound System marks a significant step forward in imaging technology. It uses better equipment and new ways to create clearer pictures. Samsung also pointed out that this machine offers much more accurate results because of its smart, Artificial Intelligence (AI)-powered tools. Plus, it has features designed to make it more comfortable for users to operate, which helps medical staff scan patients faster and better.

This new ultrasound system was built to solve a few major problems in healthcare. It helps make complicated check-ups easier and reduces the number of times results are unclear. It also tackles two common issues for medical staff: physical discomfort for the sonographers (the people who run the machine) and not having enough skilled workers available.

The R20 Ultrasound includes Samsung’s special “Advanced Imaging Engine.” This engine uses high-tech parts and smart software to produce incredibly sharp images and give doctors very precise information.

The machine also features AI tools that are very helpful. These tools can guide the exam in real-time, assist in finding out what’s wrong, automatically handle certain steps in the process, and take measurements by themselves. This allows doctors and staff to be more accurate, save time, and feel more certain about their scans.

The R20 will be shown in the U.S. for the first time at the RSNA 2025 Annual Meeting on Sunday, November 30, 2025. Samsung is inviting visitors to see the R20 up close and learn how the company is making ultrasound better by focusing on new ideas in picture quality, AI, and user comfort.

Tracy Bury, a top executive for Samsung Healthcare in the USA, commented on the release, saying the R20 shows their goal to improve medical imaging through smart, specific new ideas. She added that with the R20, Samsung is no longer just following others, but is now a true leader in technology, quickly bringing changes that are completely reshaping the future of ultrasound.
