Samsung prepares Galaxy S25 Ultra with new One UI 8.5 wallpapers and S26 Pro plans reportedly dropped

Samsung is getting ready to launch the Galaxy S25 Ultra, and recent reports reveal that the company is testing its new firmware — One UI 8.5. This upcoming software is currently being optimized for the S25 series, and early builds suggest the phone will include a fresh set of wallpapers designed exclusively for the Ultra model.

These new wallpapers, expected to arrive with the final version of One UI 8.5, will likely reflect Samsung’s evolving design approach — colorful yet minimal, matching the company’s focus on simplicity and premium aesthetics. The S25 Ultra will also bring advanced AI features and improved customization options, enhancing the overall One UI experience.

Samsung is currently testing the Galaxy S25 Ultra with firmware version S928NKSU0AXJ2, and more details about the phone’s camera setup, performance, and design are expected soon. The company aims to make the S25 Ultra the highlight of its 2025 flagship lineup.

At the same time, Samsung has reportedly canceled its plans for the Galaxy S26 Pro. According to internal sources, the company decided not to proceed with this model, which was initially expected to sit between the Galaxy S26 and the S26 Ultra. Instead, Samsung will continue its traditional lineup with three main versions — the standard Galaxy S26, S26+, and S26 Ultra.

This move suggests Samsung wants to keep its S-series lineup simpler and more focused, avoiding unnecessary variations. While the Galaxy S26 Pro may not happen, the S26 Ultra will still serve as the company’s top-tier flagship next year, featuring the latest hardware, camera upgrades, and One UI improvements.

With One UI 8.5 in development and the Galaxy S25 Ultra nearing release, Samsung is clearly focusing on refinement rather than expansion — prioritizing a smoother, smarter, and more visually consistent user experience.
