Samsung releases huge December 2025 Security Patch details
Samsung has now provided the official information regarding the next monthly security update for its wide range of Galaxy smartphones and tablets. The December 2025 security patch is being noted as one of the most important updates released this year, as it corrects more than 60 security issues.
The new software update deals with a total of 57 vulnerabilities that exist within the main Android operating system itself. Six of these are considered extremely severe, while the rest are still serious high-risk issues. Beyond the fixes coming from Google, Samsung has also repaired 11 additional security flaws that were specific only to its own phones and tablets.
Some of the most serious issues that have been patched relate to key components of the device, such as the fingerprint system, the bootloader (the software that starts your device), and the processing of image files. These specific problems could have allowed a bad actor to access or rewrite data that they should never have been able to see.
The update also fixes a weakness in the Dynamic Lockscreen feature, which might have allowed other apps to improperly access its files, and it corrects an error in Samsung’s internal radio interface that could have caused unwanted issues with device memory.
The company will begin sending out this essential security patch to all eligible devices gradually throughout the month. The November 2025 update was slightly delayed because Samsung was focused on rolling out the large One UI 8 upgrade, which is based on Android 16.
Now that the bigger system update is complete, the December patch is expected to arrive more quickly than usual, which is good news considering how many important fixes it contains. To install this security update on your Galaxy device, simply navigate to the Settings menu, select Software update, and then tap Download and install.
