Samsung releases One UI 8 for Galaxy Tab S9 and new update for Galaxy Watch 5
Samsung has started rolling out the One UI 8 update for the Galaxy Tab S9 series, giving users a fresh and smoother experience. This new software is based on Android 16 and brings a range of performance and security improvements. The rollout has begun in several regions, and users can expect to receive it soon through an over-the-air (OTA) update.
The One UI 8 version focuses on better system stability, faster performance, and more privacy controls. Samsung has also improved the overall look and feel of the interface, offering cleaner visuals and smoother animations. Along with these changes, users will notice refined multitasking options, improved notification handling, and better compatibility with connected Galaxy devices.
To check for the update, Galaxy Tab S9 users can go to Settings > Software update > Download and install. As with any major update, it’s recommended to back up data before proceeding.
Meanwhile, Samsung has also rolled out the August 2025 security update for the Galaxy Watch 5 series. This update doesn’t add new features but strengthens the smartwatch’s security and improves overall system reliability. It ensures smoother performance, better battery management, and enhanced protection against potential vulnerabilities.
The Galaxy Watch 5 update is currently available in Korea and will expand to other regions soon. Users can update through the Galaxy Wearable app by heading to Watch settings > Watch software update > Download and install.
