Samsung is currently releasing its final software update of the year for a wide range of smartphones and tablets. This December 2025 security patch is landing on several popular models, including the Galaxy S23 series and many mid-range Galaxy A devices.

New Updates for Galaxy S23 and Others

The flagship Galaxy S23, S23 Plus, and S23 Ultra are now receiving the latest security improvements. While the update arrived a bit later than usual for these models, it is now rolling out, starting in South Korea, with other regions expected to follow shortly.

In addition to the premium S23 series, several other devices have joined the update list:

  • Galaxy A Series: The Galaxy A35, A54, A53, and the budget-friendly Galaxy A13.
  • Galaxy Tablets: The Galaxy Tab A9 is also receiving the new software.

These updates bring 68 different fixes to address security vulnerabilities in both the Android operating system and Samsung’s own software. Beyond safety, the update helps your device run more smoothly by cleaning up system files and temporary data.

Better Camera Tools Coming with One UI 8.5

While the current updates focus on security, Samsung is also working on a major software upgrade called One UI 8.5. A new feature recently spotted in testing is a “White Balance” slider for the standard Photo mode.

In the past, users had to switch to “Pro Mode” to manually change the color temperature (making photos look warmer or cooler). With this upcoming change, you will be able to adjust the white balance directly in the regular camera mode. This makes it much easier for everyday users to fix lighting issues—like when indoor lights make a photo look too yellow or blue—without needing to be a photography expert.

How to Get the Update

Most of these devices are already running Android 16. If you own one of the mentioned phones or tablets, you can check for the update manually. Just open your Settings, go to Software update, and tap Download and install. It is always a good idea to keep your device updated to ensure it stays fast and secure.
