Samsung recently started sending out the test version, or beta, of its latest software update, called One UI 8.5, to users of Galaxy phones. This new software comes with a number of visual changes and new features across the entire system.

One easy-to-spot change is in the way you set up a new wearable device, like a Galaxy Watch, through the Galaxy Wearable app. When the application needs to get a small piece of software, or “plugin,” to connect with your new gadget, the screen that displays the download progress now has a fresh look.

In the older One UI 8.0, the download percentage appeared inside a simple bubble with little specks moving around it. The new design in One UI 8.5 is much more polished and modern. It now shows a bubble with smooth, changing colors, which looks more elegant and fits perfectly with the overall style of the new software, even matching the screen you see when the setup process is wrapping up.

Beyond these built-in system updates, Samsung is also making sure its popular add-on features are ready for the change. The company has rolled out an update for “One Hand Operation+,” which is a useful part of the Good Lock app collection.

This tool is designed to help users operate their large phones easily with just one hand by providing extra quick gestures. The latest update officially makes the app work with the new One UI 8.5 test software. It also takes care of any glitches and improves how reliably the app runs.

This focus on preparing apps for the new One UI 8.5 is not limited to just these features. Samsung has also recently updated several other basic applications that come on Galaxy phones, including Calculator, Clock, Samsung Internet, and Samsung Notes. These updates ensure the apps are fully ready for the new software, often adding fresh designs and new functions to match the One UI 8.5 experience.
