Samsung’s amazing Triple-Folding phone might not come to the U.S. right away

Tech experts think that Samsung is planning to release its most complex phone yet, a device that folds three times, sometime in 2025. However, there are signs that this exciting new phone might not be available in the United States right at the very beginning.

A trusted source in the world of technology recently shared the list of countries where the Samsung TriFold phone is likely to launch first. This list does not include the U.S., which goes against some earlier talk about a possible American launch. The new device is expected to only be sold in places like South Korea, the larger Chinese market (including places like Singapore and Taiwan), and possibly the United Arab Emirates.

News coming from South Korea also reports that Samsung will officially show off the TriFold smartphone very soon—this week, in fact, at a major event called APEC 2025, which takes place between October 31 and November 1. The event will be held in Gyeongju, South Korea.

This first look is just the official unveiling, as the company plans to start selling the phone later this year. Initial production might involve around 200,000 units. People in the industry believe the phone will cost around 4 million won in South Korea, which is about $2,800.

It might be disappointing for fans of folding phones, but Samsung seems to be taking a careful and smart approach. They are likely following the same plan they used for the very first Galaxy Fold phone: releasing the new product in key Asian areas first. This allows the company to test how well the phone works in the real world and check how many people buy it before trying a worldwide launch.

A few reasons for skipping the U.S. at first could be the very high cost of the new triple-folding screen and possible difficulties in getting enough parts through the supply chain.

Despite these hurdles, it is still likely that the device will be launched in certain countries first and then slowly become available in places like the United States later on. Everything depends on the supply chain and what Samsung’s final sales plan is. It is worth noting that while a competitor was the first to release a tri-fold phone, Samsung’s new design is expected to be stronger and more durable, featuring screens made by Samsung Display.
