Samsung’s One UI 8.5 adds three new lock screen clock options while Galaxy S25 Beta program finally closes

Samsung keeps making its software more fun and flexible for Galaxy users. Right now, on September 26, 2025, the company has wrapped up the One UI 8 beta program for the Galaxy S25 series. Even after rolling out the stable version last week, some folks were still listed as part of the beta group.

They could see the beta page and community in the Samsung Members app, but they couldn’t share feedback anymore. The app showed a “Joined” status, and users had the choice to leave the program right from the top corner of the screen. In past years, Samsung would kick everyone out of the beta once the final update dropped.

But this time, things stayed open a bit longer, with the beta banner still popping up. The good news is that no more beta builds are coming for the S25 lineup, as confirmed in the last notice. If you’ve grabbed the stable update, just head to the beta settings and opt out to keep things tidy.

Now, you can kick back and wait for the next big thing, which rumors point to as One UI 8.5. Speaking of that, Samsung is already teasing fresh features for One UI 8.5, even though the base One UI 8 isn’t out everywhere yet. One exciting change is three brand-new clock designs for your phone’s lock screen.

These keep things simple with side-to-side layouts, and they’re basically the sideways takes on the clocks that showed up in One UI 7. You won’t find any tweaks to the clock fonts themselves, but these styles give you more ways to match your wallpaper—though it’s not clear yet if they’ll auto-adjust to faces or shapes in your background pic. This early version doesn’t add extra lock screen tweaks, but Samsung might toss in more down the line.

The whole One UI 8.5 package is set to launch with the Galaxy S26 phones. Other cool bits that have leaked include a fully tweakable Quick Panel, easy file sharing over NFC with Quick Share, ditching the old OneDrive backup setup, smarter AI tools, fixes for the Auto Blocker headaches, and even pollen alerts in the Weather app. All this means Samsung is pushing hard to make your device feel more personal and helpful every time they update.
