Your Samsung phone just got a major brain upgrade with the latest One UI 8 software. This update brings a set of incredibly smart features called Galaxy AI that are designed to make your daily tasks much easier. We’ll walk you through how to start using some of the best new tools right away.

One of the coolest features is called Circle to Search. This tool lets you quickly find information about anything you see on your screen without having to leave the app you are currently using. To make it work, simply touch and hold the Home button or the navigation bar.

You can then use your finger or S Pen to draw a circle, highlight, or scribble over an object, text, or picture. Right away, your phone will give you search results related to what you circled at the bottom of the screen. It’s a huge time-saver!

For better communication, there are a few key AI tools. If you’re talking to someone who speaks a different language, the Live Translate feature is your new best friend. To turn it on, go to Settings, tap Galaxy AI, then find Call Assist, and switch on Live Translate.

When you’re on a phone call using the Samsung phone app, you can tap the assist button to see and hear translations of the conversation in real-time. Similarly, Transcript Assist works with the Voice Recorder app. If you record a meeting or lecture, you can use this feature to turn the entire audio into text, and even ask the AI to summarize the key points for you.

When you’re typing messages, emails, or notes, the Writing Assist tool is there to help. When your keyboard is open in a messaging app or Samsung Notes, tap the little Galaxy AI icon that appears above the keyboard. Here, you can ask the AI to translate your text as you chat, check your spelling and grammar fast, or even rewrite your message to sound different—maybe more professional or friendlier.

Editing photos and videos has also become simple magic. The Generative Edit feature in your Gallery lets you move or remove objects in a picture. Just open a photo, tap the Galaxy AI icon, and long-press or circle the item you want to change. The AI will then automatically fill in the empty space, making the object disappear or appear somewhere else.

For quick video fixes, the Audio Eraser tool is fantastic. If you have a video ruined by too much wind noise or other sounds, open the video in the Gallery or Video Player, look for the AI editing tools, and tap Audio Eraser. It will clean up the audio in seconds so you can hear the important parts clearly.

Finally, to stay organized, check out Now Brief. You can set this up through the Galaxy AI section in your phone’s settings. It gives you timely updates and summaries right at the bottom of your lock screen or in the Apps Edge Panel, keeping you informed without having to open multiple apps.
