September 2020 security update is rolling out for Honor Magic 2

Honor is pushing the new update for Honor Magic 2 users. This update installs security patches released in September 2020 and enhances system security and increases the overall performance.

Recently, Huawei has released the official roadmap for EMUI 11 and MagicUI 4 for its devices. The roadmap shows that MagicUI 4 beta recruitment for Honor Magic 2 will be planned for mid-November 2020 alongside Honor 20, 20 Pro, and V20.

  • Honor Magic 2 (TNY-TL00)

NEW VERSION:

  • Honor Magic 2 smartphone upgraded to EMUI 10.1.0.164 from EMUI 10.1.0.162

  • The update will not erase any data
  • Maintain enough storage and battery
  • If possible, connect to WiFi

UPDATE INSTRUCTIONS:

Through Setting:

  1. Open Settings on your device
  2. Click on system & updates
  3. Click on the software update
  4. Check for updates
  5. Click on the download button
  6. Install updates
  7. After completion of the installation, the reboot option appears onscreen
  8. Reboot the device

Through Support app:

  1. Open the Support app on your device
  2. If not installed, download it from the play store
  3.  Open service tab
  4. Tap on update
  5. Check for updates
  6. Click on the download button
  7. Install updates
  8. After completion of the installation, the reboot option appears onscreen
  9. Reboot the device
