Shifting gears to something handy for your phone, Google Wallet on Android is rolling out a cleaner, more vibrant update to more users right now. This tweak brings in the Material 3 Expressive style, making the app feel modern and easy on the eyes.

Right away, you’ll notice the top-left spot swaps the word “Wallet” for the app’s simple icon. The old flat “Add to Wallet” button turns into a bigger, rounded square that stands out. Those card previews below the payment quick-view? They used to copy the color of whatever pass you had, but now they pull from your phone’s dynamic themes for a fresh vibe every time.

Down at the bottom, the link to old passes gets a smooth, rounded shape. When you tap into a bank card, your recent buys show up neatly boxed for quick scanning—no more scrolling through a messy list. The same tidy setup hits the add-new-stuff menu and even the settings area. Paying with a tap feels snappier, too, with a new win animation that pops. If you’ve got a recent Pixel phone, the quick Wallet pop-up screen matches the new style perfectly.

This refresh is sliding out quietly through Google’s servers, tied to app version 25.38. Most Android phones should have it by now—try closing and reopening the app if it’s not there yet. It first showed up for a few people back in June, but it’s been taking its sweet time to reach everyone.
