Samsung CEO apologises for Galaxy S22 apps throttling issue

Today, Samsung conducted a shareholders’ meeting, and in that the CEO of Samsung has bowed in apology over the apps throttling controversy on the new Galaxy S22 flagship lineup. The official apologized for shipping the phones with a pre-installed app that limits apps’ performance.

As per the report, Samsung DeX Division CEO JH Han said that they had failed to appreciate customer concerns over the apps throttling issue and bowed in apology. Following the deliveries of the Galaxy S22 series, consumers started reporting that the Game Optimizing Service throttles the performance of nearly 10,000 apps.

Between the apps throttling debate, some Korean Galaxy S22 purchasers reportedly sued Samsung for limiting the performance of apps and games and demanded compensation. Besides, South Korea’s Fair Trade Commission also started an investigation against fake advertisements like “the best performance ever”.

Additionally, the Samsung CEO disclosed that the Game Optimizing Service app was designed to optimize the performance of smartphones and prevent overheating while playing games or running apps with high specs.
