Google Maps to replace Speech Services with Assistant voice typing feature

Google is constantly implementing new changes to its applications. In the latest development, the US tech giant is planning to replace the outdated Speech Services from Google Maps and implement an all-new Assistant voice typing feature.

Earlier, tapping on the microphone button in the search bar leads us to a square speech-to-text window. Eventually, this used to appear as part of Google Speech Services. However, the company is now replacing that window from Google Maps with an Assistant voice typing feature.

This new tweak will show up as a card that pops up from the bottom. As per the details, this could be a faster way to search in the respective navigation app. Further, it has an in-built suggestion carousel. The elements of which essentially replicate the carousel below the search bar.
