Google Messages is an effective tool when it comes to pick a messaging application but in the current scenario, the app is stuck with an annoying bug and is marking text as read automatically. The bug has specifically affected the web platform.
A few users on the Reddit ground reported that while opening the Google Messages app for the web on the desktop, it marks text and messages as read instantly, which might be due to some glitch or bug. That’s not it! As a result of this issue, the app didn’t notify users about new messages on their phones, watch, or computer.

Concerning this problem, some reports say that it occasionally appears on the device and even gets fixed. Although after a while, it again shows up on the screen. A quick solution to this bug is to unpair and re-pair your phone to the Messages for the web. As this could be a browser-related trouble.
