 WhatsApp may soon let users lock chats for linked devices

WhatsApp is working on a new feature that lets users lock chats on their linked devices and add an extra layer of privacy to their conversations. As it ensures that locked chats remain synchronized across all devices always.

As per the input, this new feature will be presented in all the linked WhatsApp accounts with a Locked Chats menu above Archived. And to open the chats folder on a linked device, users will be required to create a secret code.

To be mentioned, users will be able to configure a secret code for locked chats from the primary phone. After configuring the secret code, locked chats will disappear from the chats list and can be accessed via privacy feature on linked devices.

Hence, users will be able to easily access their protected conversations from any linked device without compromising confidentiality. Accordingly, the introduction of locked chats for will significantly enhance both privacy and user convenience.

An official source states, With the implementation of locked chat support for linked devices, users will be able to rest assured that their sensitive conversations remain hidden from prying eyes across all platforms and devices, enhancing overall privacy and security.
