Apple iPhone 14 Pro will get HEIF Max camera feature with iOS 17

Apple has launched the iPhone 15 series with several capabilities and one of them is the HEIF Max camera feature which is likely to make its way to iPhone 14 Pro models. The information states that the function will come along with the iOS 17 upgrade.

So far, iPhone 14 Pro owners can only swap between three options while capturing images. These options are:

  • regular 12-megapixel JPEG or HEIF
  • 12-megapixel ProRAW
  • 48-megapixel ProRAW

The ProRAW effect significantly makes the snaps better but results in a 75 MB file. However, the all-new HEIF Max camera feature for the Apple iPhone 14 Pro device will let users click images in 48-megapixel resolution and save them in a compressed file.

Eventually, the overall size appears around 5MB and shows more details than a regular 12-megapixel photo but consumes less storage on your smartphone. In addition, the company is adding a new shortcut that lets you easily switch between formats in the Camera app.
