Google Pixel Fold 2 design with redesigned camera bump leaked

Google seems to be preparing for its next foldable model, which will be the successor of the original Pixel Fold. This upcoming device is expected to come with several prominent upgrades and a piece of new information also claims that the Google Pixel Fold 2 will have design shifts with a redesigned camera bump.

According to the information, AndroidAuthority gives us a close and first look at the design of the Google Pixel Fold 2 smartphone and the most eye-catching detail is the overhauled camera bump. As it seems to be quite similar to first-gen foldable and is strongly reminiscent of the first leaks of the Pixel 9 series.

In addition, the upcoming foldable phone hinges now look nearly identical to the one used by OnePlus. Moving on, Google is using matte materials for the Pixel Fold 2 hinge – as opposed to the polished metal of the first Fold. However, this will help mask the hinge while the phone is unfolded.

Google’s form factor, though, is extremely rounded around the corners, while OnePlus and Samsung have both focused on more squared-off designs. For the sequel, Google seems to be moving in a radically different direction, with a new and much taller aspect ratio that looks very similar to the OnePlus Open. The source describes it as being “closer to a square.”

Consequently, Google is expected to launch its next foldable phone the Pixel Fold 2 in the summer, potentially being unveiled at Google I/O 2024.
