Preparation for Galaxy S25 begins: Exynos 2500 key details leaked

Following the launch of the Galaxy S24 series, the preparation for Samsung Galaxy S25 devices has begun, as the key details of the Exynos 2500 SoC have already leaked. Notably, the standard and Plus models of the Galaxy S24 series power Exynos 2400 chip, and the case could be the same with the upcoming lineup.

Samsung Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S25 Plus are expected to use Exynos 2500 processors in some parts of the world, so let’s have a look at its details. As per the input, the next generation of Exynos processor will use a 10-core CPU like the previous one but with an advanced chip manufacturing process and ARM’s upcoming CPU cores.

It may feature one Cortex-X5 CPU core clocked at 3.2GHz or higher, three Cortex-A720 CPU cores clocked at 2.3GHz or above, three Cortex-A720 CPU cores, and four Cortex-A530 CPU cores, to offer more satisfactory performance. It’s also going to be the first chip to use Samsung Foundry’s second-generation 3nm process.

Not only this, but some reports also claim that ARM’s Blackhawk CPU core (Cortex-X5) will surpass Apple’s latest custom CPU core in terms of single-core performance. ARM has already teased its Blackhawk (Cortex-X5), Chaberton (Cortex-A730), and Hayes (Cortex-A530) power efficiency CPU cores in mid-2023.

Thus, if the information turns out to be true, then Samsung’s Exynos 2500 chipset, equipped with ARM’s upcoming CPU cores, could defeat Apple in terms of performance for the first time in over a decade. Simultaneously, the chipset is also said to be better than TSMC’s 3nm process in terms of area and efficiency.
