Samsung Galaxy A55 and Galaxy A35 launch with four years of major Android updates and five years of security patches

Samsung has officially unveiled two new mid-range phones, the Galaxy A35 and Galaxy A55, which feature stylish designs, improved security, and improved cameras. Both phones feature robust security with Samsung Knox Vault, a hardware-based security feature debuting in Samsung’s mid-range lineup.

In terms of basic specifications, both devices are very similar. Both feature 6.6-inch FHD+ SuperAMOLED displays (clocked at 120Hz), Android 14 out of the box, and 5,000mAh batteries.

The Galaxy A55 is the higher-end model and has a better camera. It has a 50MP main camera, a 12MP ultra-wide-angle camera, and a 5MP macro camera. It also has a 32MP front camera. Meanwhile, the Galaxy A35 has a 50MP main camera backed by a smaller 8MP ultrawide camera and another 5MP macro camera. It is packed with a 13MP front camera.

The base model of the Galaxy A55 comes with 8GB of RAM and 128GB or 256GB of storage. The 256 GB variant is also available with 12 GB of RAM. Meanwhile, the base model of the Galaxy A35 comes with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, with 8GB variants available in 128GB and 256GB.

Samsung has not officially revealed which chipsets these devices use. The Galaxy A55 is expected to be powered by Exynos 1480, while the A35 is expected to be powered by Exynos 1380.

Samsung has recently launched the Galaxy S24 series with seven years of Android and security updates.
