In terms of cameras, the Sharp AQUOS R7 said at the time of its release that it was equipped with “the newly developed 1-inch 47MP sensor”. According to the Japanese media that got the phone, this camera is equipped with the same Sony IMX989 CMOS as the Xiaomi 12S Ultra.

It should be noted that the Sony IMX989 CMOS lens of the Xiaomi 12S Ultra is 50 megapixels, while the AQUOS R7 is 47.2 megapixels, indicating that Sharp has done a crop. Lei Jun revealed that the Xiaomi camera department participated in the definition of the IMX989 specification and part of the design and verification work.
