US government permits Samsung to sell displays to Huawei

Recently, a report reveals that Samsung received a license from the US government to supply OLED display panels to Huawei. Samsung is one of the first companies to get such approval after new sanctions against Huawei came into effect a few weeks ago.

According to Reuters, Samsung can supply only display panel parts to Huawei. Still, semiconductors chips for panel drivers have not approved by the US government.

Last month, the US restricts Samsung and LG from supplying display panels to Huawei technologies because the display panels include the chips which are banned by the US government.

Moreover, the US government approved Samsung to supply Huawei because display panels are less sensitive, and Huawei can already get panels from BOE (Beijing Oriental Electronics).
