Android 14 could add Material You dynamic colors to Wear OS

Google has recently released its first Android 14 Developer Preview for Pixel devices. The new code in Android 14 shows various tweaks and customizations over the previous version and one of them could be the arrival of Material You dynamic colors for Wear OS.

Material You dynamic colors are already popular on Android devices and now with Android 14, Google is also trying to improve the Wear OS user interface by applying the beautiful dynamic color theme. This is going to enhance the overall interpretation of the wearables.

As per the information, the code of Android 14, shows the signs that Google is preparing support for dynamic colors on Wear OS watches. The evidence comes from a list of wearables-related settings present in Android, which has achieved a new option called Dynamic Color Theme Enabled.

For your information, wearable users already get some tweaks of Material You with WearOS 3, but Google’s platform for wearables is currently based on Android 11. So, it doesn’t have built-in support for changing dynamic colors as of now, which can be modified soon.

Android 14 Wear OS Material You dynamic colors

However, we can expect that this dynamic color support will arrive as part of a future update to Wear OS. As we have previously seen signs that Google was working on a version of Wear OS based on Android 13, but it’s also possible that wearables could skip ahead to Android 14.
