Google may defeat Samsung’s rock-solid updates policy with Pixel 8 series

Google and Samsung are among the top tech vendors for providing the best Android updates. Both manufacturers offer devices that receive up to five years of software support. However, Google now plans to level up the updates policy game with the upcoming Pixel 8 series.

According to the details, the US tech giant is trying to give a tough spot to both iOS and Samsung OS upgrades. Eventually, the Google Pixel 8 series is hearsay to get more OS updates with a longer lifespan than the other handsets in the market, especially Galaxy models.

Currently, it’s Apple which is serving 5 years of major OS to its devices. For instance, the iPhone XS released in September with iOS 12 is ready to grab the upcoming iOS 17 software upgrade. Meanwhile, Samsung is relying upon the 4 Android OS + 5 years of security update support for its top-end models.

However, the Google Pixel 8 series shows a promising concept in its updates policy which will surpass Samsung handsets. Things are still hanging in the air without any confirmation. But we will keep you posted on this matter with the latest inputs.
