OnePlus and Apple are often considered the biggest smartphone brands in India. However, the latest report from Market research firm IDC states that the Chinese OEM has surpassed the iPhone maker among the high-fy handset vendors list. Meanwhile, Vivo has ranked first position in this race.
According to the information, Vivo attained 16 percent of the market share in the second quarter and stood at the top place. Thereafter comes Samsung with a 15.7% market share. The list further counts Realme, OPPO, and Xiaomi, as doing well in this category.
Speaking of the OnePlus, it grabbed 7.2% and landed in the 6th position, surpassing Apple (5.5%) in India’s top 10 smartphone brands rankings. Notably, Apple iPhone 13 and OnePlus Nord CE 3 Lite were the highest-shipped 5G models in the second quarter of this year.
Perhaps, OnePlus paced ahead with the American tech giant due to its cost-effective and tech-pack devices. Upasana Joshi – the Research Manager of Client Devices in IDC India said:
“Consumers are opting for premium offerings, driven by easy and affordable financing options. IDC expects this growth momentum to continue in the upcoming months in 2023.”
